“With the new contract, workers will see a substantial improvement in their working and living conditions.

From now on, employers will no longer be able to unreasonably increase the workload without a prior proportional adjustment of paid time.

The contract also includes a very important innovation: the implementation of a telephone application for extra shifts, called the ‘digital hiring office’. This will make it easy to cover vacant workloads, such as during an employee’s illness or absence. Through this new contract, members will also benefit from a significant increase in their wages, improved health benefits for themselves and their families, and an increase in the percentage of employers’ pension contributions from 2% to 3% in 2027. This contract represents a positive step forward.”

Last Offer Votes – Know Your Rights!

In British Columbia and Ontario, before the beginning of a strike, an employer can request to the provincial government that a vote be taken by union members on the employer’s “last offer”.
